1.
Loving kindness abounds everywhere, in everything, from the lowest of the stars to the highest and most beloved of all things because the Goddess has bequeathed the kiss of peace upon the ultimate King. Unto ages of ages, Amen
2.
O leafy branch, standing in your nobility as the dawn breaks forth: now rejoice and be glad and deign to set us frail ones free from evil habits stretch forth your hand and lift us up. Unto ages of ages, Amen
3.
For since a woman drew up death, a virgin gleaming dashed it down, and therefore is the highest blessing found in woman’s form before all other creatures. For God was made a human in the sweetest and most blessed Virgin. Unto ages of ages, Amen.
4.
O strength of Wisdom who circling circled enclosing all in one lifegiving path. Three winds have you: one soars to the heights one distills its essence upon the earth, and the third is everywhere. Praise to you, as it is fitting, O Wisdom.
5.
How wonderful it is, that the foreknowing heart divine has first known everything created! for when God looked upon the human face that they had formed, they gazed upon their every work, reflected whole within that human form. How wondrous is that breath that roused humanity to life!
6.
O luminous apostles’ band— to recognize the truth you rise and open wide the schoolhouse prison of the devil’s mastery, to wash its captives clean within the font of living water— you are a brilliant light within the darkest shadows, the strongest kind of pillars the Lamb’s Bride to uphold in all the ornament of him through whose rejoicing that Mother Virgin bears her banner. For the spotless Lamb is the Bridegroom of that spotless Bride of him through whose rejoicing that Mother Virgin bears her banner.
7.
O vos angeli 16:27
O angels, you who guard the peoples in your care whose form reflects in flash upon your face; O archangels, you who lend your aid to righteous souls; O virtues, powers, princedoms, dominations, thrones— you’re reckoned in the mystic fifth; and O you cherubim and seraphim, the seal upon God’s mysteries: Praise be to you, who glimpse the chamber of the ancient heart within the fount, the source. For you look into the Father’s inner strength— the breathing of his heart as of his face. Praise be to you, who glimpse the chamber of the ancient heart within the fount, the source.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Lifeline is a modern-day interpretation of the music of Hildegard Von Bingen distilled through the lens of my experiences in quarantine. To create this album, I partnered with musicians around the country to create remotely-recorded “drone” tracks over which I perform Hildegard’s ecstatic chants. Along with offering a fresh perspective on some of the oldest and most beautiful compositions in the European Art Music canon, this album spotlights how artists have been able to empower one another through our digital networks to create and collaborate while in isolation.
